Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin lumiolojen muutosta tällä vuosisadalla Suomessa ja muualla Pohjois-Euroopassa uusimman sukupolven (CMIP6) ilmastomallien perusteella. Työn keskeiset tulokset olivat Suomen osalta seuraavat: 1) Ilmaston lämmetessä talven suurin lumimäärä (lumen vesiarvo) pienenee. 2) Yhtenäisen lumipeitteisen kauden kesto lyhenee, samalla kun sen alku siirtyy myöhemmäksi ja loppu aikaisemmaksi. 3) Nämä muutokset ovat suurempia Etelä-Suomessa kuin Pohjois-Suomessa. 4)
