Impact Task 14: Safer Climate

The Safer Climate network creates new spaces for climate discussion and action at the intersection of academia, civil society and arts. We facilitate events, campaigns and discussions to redefine the role of research-civil society collaboration in climate change discussions. Climate safety is a reference both to climate security and a safer space for climate discussion.

Safer Climate was established in 2022 as part of the ACCC Flagship’s social impact work. It is a growing community of researchers, students, non-governmental organizations and other civil society representatives, artists and creatives. You can join Safer Climate as an individual or organizational member. Together with partners, we have facilitated events such as the Climate Security Festival 2024 & 2025, Climate and Death 2024 as well as workshops, webinars and cultural events. We welcome new ideas and participants from all fields and walks of life and aim to maintain a culture of openness, experimentation and low hierarchy.
