His main research area was boundary layer dynamics and turbulence. He utilized his knowledge widely in different scientific disciplines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following organizations have jointly decided to establish the Sergej Zilitinkevich memorial award:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>World Meteorological Organization (WMO)<\/li><li>European Meteorological Society (EMS)<\/li><li>International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS)<\/li><li>The Atmosphere and Climate Competence Center (ACCC)<\/li><li>The Institute for atmospheric and Earth system research (INAR) and National Network<\/li><li>Finnish Geophysical Society<\/li><li>Finnish Foundation for Aerosol Research<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The award is an international award, and it will be delivered annually to a creative scientist who has made breakthroughs in atmospheric sciences or oceanography. Nominations for the award are openly selected within international research networks, particularly those related to Zilitinkevich\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nominations for the Sergej Zilitinkevich Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Documents:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Nomination letter<\/li><li>Supporting letters<\/li><li>Curriculum Vitae.
